2. Select the clip whose sound you want to change, then click **Media properties**. The Media properties option on a clip

## Use a stock sound effect 1. Select **Stock SFX**. 2. Type the sound you want and press Enter. A search for a sound in Stock SFX

3. Play each sound to hear it. Each sound shows its duration. Stock sound effects with play buttons and durations

4. Click the name of the sound you want. It shows at the top, next to the SFX or media audio. 5. Click **Proceed**, then save changes. The chosen sound effect shown at the top with the Proceed button

## Generate your own sound effect 1. Click **Back**, then choose **Generate SFX**. The Generate SFX option

2. Describe the sound and set its duration. 3. Click **Generate**. 4. Click the new sound to replace the audio, then click **Proceed** and save changes. A generated sound effect ready to use

Preview the video after you save to check the sound. ## Use your own audio file 1. Select **Upload audio** and upload your MP3 file. 2. Click the file to replace the original audio. 3. ## Restore the original audio Click **Back to default**. The Back to default button in the Audio & SFX section

You can keep the SFX or the media audio, but not both at the same time. The audio offset works only for uploaded audio. For clearer playback, you can [mute the voiceover](/invideo-ai/how-do-i-remove-the-voiceover-from-my-video), [remove the background music](/invideo-ai/how-do-i-remove-the-music-from-my-video) or change the SFX volume.
