title: How to add AI sound design to a video in invideo Editor
description: Describe the sound you want, review the agent’s work and refine it on your timeline.
---
In invideo Editor, you can ask Agent Two, invideo's own agent, to find or generate sounds and arrange them around your video. The resulting sound layers remain editable, so you can refine them through conversation or make manual adjustments.

To make a sound, the agent uses a sound model. A good pick is `elevenlabs_sfx` for a sound from words, or `pixverse_sfx` for a sound that matches a clip. The agent can search for others with `find_models`, and it prices each sound with a dry run first. Models retire. If a model is not found, your agent runs `find_models` with the job in words, uses the best match, and tells you. See [Add music and sound effects that clear rights](/how-to/creators/music-and-sound-effects).

## 1. Start with your video

Open the timeline you want to work on. You can use your own footage or a video you have already edited.

## 2. Describe the result you want

Use the agent panel to explain the mood, the moments that need sound and anything you want preserved.

**Suggested example prompt**:

*'Add restrained sound design to this product video. Use soft clicks for the interface movements and a stronger impact when the logo appears. Keep the existing visual edit unchanged.'*

## 3. Listen and review

Play the timeline and inspect the sounds added to the timeline. Check whether effects land at the intended moments and whether dialogue remains clear.

## 4. Ask for a specific change

Describe the sound and the adjustment you want:

“*Make the clicks quieter and shorten the impact on the logo.*”

You can also upload your own sound effects and direct the agent to use them.

## 5. Refine the mix manually

Select **Audio** and use the **Audio Track Mixer** to adjust track levels. Use solo (`set_audio_solo`) to hear a track separately, then listen to everything together again.

## Does AI sound design use credits?

Your own edits and mixing on the timeline are free. Agent Two's work and the media it makes use credits. An outside agent edits for free and pays only for generation, transcripts and paid stock. An outside agent's own chat, such as Claude or ChatGPT, runs on that app's plan. See [Credits](/account/credits).
