title: How should I choose a LUT for my footage in invideo Editor?
description: Use a LUT as a starting point, then judge the result shot by shot.
---
A LUT maps input color values to output values. invideo Editor has LUTs next to manual color controls, and you can bring your own .cube file. Your agent applies one with `apply_lut`. Choose a look that supports your scene and review it on representative shots before applying it widely.

A LUT does not remove the need to assess exposure, color balance and continuity. Footage recorded under different lighting may still need individual corrections. Compare faces, neutral objects and important product colors across the sequence, and refine the grade until the shots work together.
