title: What does snapping help with when I move clips on the timeline?
description: Use alignment assistance to place clips more precisely.

Snapping helps align clips with timeline reference points as you position them in invideo Editor. It is useful when you want adjoining clips to meet cleanly instead of leaving a small accidental gap.

After positioning a clip, zoom in and check the join. Listen across the edit as well as watching it. Correct visual alignment does not by itself guarantee a smooth audio transition. Check linked audio too whenever you reposition footage.
