title: How to ask AI agents to edit your timeline
description: Give Agent Two clear editing instructions and review its changes on the invideo Editor timeline.
---
Agent Two in invideo Editor helps you assemble and revise your cut. Describe the change in the agent panel, explain which footage to use and identify anything that should stay the same. The result remains available for manual editing on your timeline.

## Give an editing instruction

1. Open the project and timeline you want to work on.

2. Open the agent panel on the left and describe the task.

3. Include the length you want, relevant clips or section, and details to preserve.

4. Review the updated sequence in the Monitor and on the timeline.

5. Make a manual adjustment or give a focused follow-up instruction.

**Example instructions.**

*"Build a short introduction from these clips. Open on the product close-up and end on the logo."*

*"Shorten this section while keeping the speaker's explanation in its original order."*

*"Lower the background music during the dialogue."*

*"Adjust these two shots so their color feels consistent."*

Treat these as starting briefs. Add the names, sections and references that make the request clear in your project, then check the result before continuing.

Agent Two's work and the media it makes use credits. An outside agent edits for free and pays only for generation, transcripts and paid stock. You can set Agent Two to ask before it generates. An outside agent, such as Claude or ChatGPT, runs a dry run first and tells you the price before it spends anything. See [Credits and what they cost](/account/credits). For the generation approval settings, see [How Agent Two credits work](/credits-and-plans/how-credits-are-charged-when-using-ai-agents).

For the same steps from a chat app, see [Make a video with invideo without a terminal](/start/no-terminal).
